Bucks OKs $1.9M in housing, eviction funds

With wintry weather here and hundreds of Bucks County residents facing evictions as they ve fallen behind on payments during the COVID crisis, Bucks County has awarded nearly $2 million for assistance.
The Bucks County Housing and Community Development Department is increasing funding for services to help those in need, while the county plans to hire a navigator to assist those dealing with multiple social service issues, such as homelessness coupled with mental health concerns.
The county commissioners approved using $1.9 million in funds from the federal Housing and Urban Development Department for COVID-related housing relief during their regular meeting Monday. This amount is on top of the $2 million the county normally receives from HUD each year through the Community Development Block Grant program. ....
