Hopkinsville man arrested on drug trafficking, gun charges following traffic stop

A man was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Monday while driving on East 19th and Maplewood streets on drug trafficking and gun charges following a traffic stop, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.
The report states police observed a vehicle driving north on Fort Campbell Boulevard with no tail lights on. A traffic stop was then conducted in the area of East 19th and Maplewood, the report added.
Officers made contact with the driver who they identified as Deante L. Sharp, 29, Hopkinsville, and discovered he was driving on a suspended license, the report said.
Sharp was asked to step out of the vehicle and when doing so police allegedly observed a firearm in the driverâs side floor board, according to the report. ....
