READY! kits with books, activities offered to incoming HCPS kindergartners
Community volunteers put together 1,100 READY! kits full of kindergarten readiness activities Friday.
Henderson County Public Schools and local early education partners are wanting to provide the kits to give incoming kindergartners tools they can use at home to prepare for their first year of school, according to a HCPS news release.
The kits include books, crayons, clay, safety scissors, Unifix cubes and activity sheets. They will be distributed by each elementary school by the end of this school year.  
HCPS also developed a three-part series of “Kindergarteners Can!” videos to provide an introduction to what school will look like. The videos are available on the district’s YouTube channel, website, Facebook and Twitter.  ....
