As a longtime historian, what impact does it have on you that you were born in concord, massachusetts, grew up around boston . What has it done to your thinking of history . Gordon it made me a fan of john, just because he was a good old yankee. I am not sure that being a new englander has affected me onsciously, i do not like to think that i am letting the present influence my conception of the past. So i am not sure. In the Powerpoint Presentation was that there wasnt enough flexibility in the tax code in rhode island to attract businesses. Thats a very controversial position. There are a lot of people who think that you give away the store to get some factory thats going to be in massachusetts 20 miles away and move it to warwick and that looks like a big success for the governor of rhode island but in fact its a zero sum game that is hurting all those neighboring states.
