More than 175 people have been arrested for their roles in the U.S. Capitol insurrection that left five people dead and more than 50 police officers injured.
Arrests include at least 15 people from New York state, with charges ranging from disorderly conduct and violent entry to assaulting police officers. A witness told the FBI that a Rochester man allegedly said they intended to kill House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Mike Pence.
Others among the pro-Trump mob include two men from other states who were arrested in New York and accused of serious crimes: A Utica native allegedly dragged a police officer down the Capitol steps to be beaten, and a Connecticut man allegedly hit a cop with a police shield while he was being crushed in a doorway.
