24th Brooklyn Film Festival Announces Lineup 36 World Premieres to be Shown!
Virtual Fest Runs June 4-13, Indoor Fest at Windmill Studios June 5-13.
Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF) announces the film lineup for its 24th edition, “The Clearing.” The 2021 edition will feature 36 World Premieres, 28 USA bows, 34 east coast debuts, and 25 first-time screenings in NY. In total, BFF will show in competition 147 features and shorts from 35 countries. The full lineup includes 13 narrative features and 9 documentary features highlighted in this release.

With many children struggling to learn remotely from home this past year since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the American education system needs a compelling message of optimism. The new documentary, ‘My Name is Pedro,’ is offering that sense of hope as it emphasizes the importance of having dedicated educators within the infrastructure of America’s public education system.
The timely film is being releasing on VOD and DVD today in the U.S., Canada and UK. The movie is being distributed on such VOD and cable platforms as Amazon, Apple TV, GooglePlay, Youtube FandangoNOW, Verizon and Wave Broadband, courtesy of Passion River Films.

SKOPJE: It was a challenging year for the industry in North Macedonia, as everywhere. Filming became complicated, cinemas went dark, festivals were moved and canceled.
However, the year started with one of the greatest chapters in Macedonian film history. The documentary
Honeyland / Medena zemja directed by Tamara Kotevska and Ljubomir Stefanov was nominated in the Best Documentary Feature and Best International Feature Film categories at the Academy Awards. It was not only the first time when a Macedonian film got two Oscar nominations, but also the first time when a documentary was nominated at the Oscars in the two categories.
