A quarter of residents at a Laois nursing home have died as a result of Covid-19.
16 out of 65 people in Droimnín Nursing Home Stradbally have now lost their lives.
Staff continue to live on site in an effort to combat the outbreak.
Chief Executive of Brookhaven Healthcare Group, who runs the facility Gearoid Brennan says the remaining residents that contracted the virus are almost all out of the covid zone .
He also confirmed some of the 36 staff who were ill are beginning to return to work but at least two remain seriously unwell.

Covid-19 has claimed more lives in the fourth week of an outbreak at a Laois nursing home where eleven people have died and a small number of patients are still unwell.
Mr Gearóid Brennan, Chief Executive of the Brookhaven Healthcare Group that runs the home, confirmed the eleventh death in a statement which outlined the status of the outbreak end extended sympathies to families on their devastating loss.

The Covid-19 death toll at a Laois nursing home in Stradbally has tragically risen again on the day before vaccination begins at the facility.
Management at the Drominín Nursing Home has confirmed that a ninth person has succumbed to the virus on Wendesday morning, January 13.
Mr Gearóin Brennan, Chief Executive of the Brookhaven Healthcare Group that runs the home, confirmed the death in a statement which outlined the status of the outbreak
He said 50 residents are positive the majority having no symptoms. A further six people are classed as not-detected / negative.
