Highlander Game 1 After winning two of the three games last week against California State Northridge, the UC Riverside softball team looked to carry that momentum into the doubleheader match against UC San Diego, in which the Highlanders were victorious with a score of 4-3. The Tritons took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning, as a single from right fielder Sherriah Harrington gave UCSD the lead 0-1. The Highlanders responded in the top of the second inning, as a triple down centerfield from player Allison Troc tied the ball game up 1-1. In the bottom of the fourth inning, a single down right field from Clarissa Reynoso gave UCSD the lead back 1-2. UCR fought back in the top of the sixth inning, as a single down right field from designated player Briza Blanco and a double into right center from catcher Kennedi Sorenson gave the Highlanders the lead 3-2.
