The Britton District will soon be getting a facelift thanks to a multimillion-dollar investment from the city.
“Despite the heavy traffic that goes down Britton Road, a lot of people have sort of just flown right by it and haven t thought of this as a viable commercial district in a long time,” Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt said.
The Britton District, which is just east of the intersection of Britton and Western, used to be a thriving community in the heart of a small town. It hasn t been that way for over 50 years.
Holt said he s hoping to change that with money left over from bond issues for infrastructure projects.
