VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City High School will be represented in the 2020-2021 North Dakota All-State band and choir with the selection of 8 students to the ensembles. Due to Covid restrictions not all of the VCHS students will be able to perform with the ND Honor ensembles but they have been selected and have all of the accolades that accompany the performing artists.
Owen Plagens (trombone) is the VCHS student who has been selected to the ND All-State Band. Morgan Jenner, Britta Roehrich, Abby Redfearn, Jerrica Eldridge, Daniel Wintch, and Jonathan Redfearn (4 year member) are the VCHS students selected to the ND All-State Mixed Choir. Taylen Mendoza is the VCHS student selected to the ND All-State Treble Choir.
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City High School instrumental students competed in the EDC/State instrumental contest on Friday, December 11th at Valley City High School.
VCHS entered a total of 19 soloists in the contest. The students received 0-III(three) ratings, 1-II(two) rating, 5-I(one) ratings, 12- region star ratings and 4- state star ratings. Valley City High School also had three students also receive
Outstanding Performance (OP) ratings which means that they were the best performance in their category in that particular venue that entire day, a huge honor. Britta Roehrich on flute, Aurora Ziniel on clarinet and Alexa Kjelland on french horn received OP’s for their performances at the contest. The students performed very well and represented VCHS with a strong showing at the contest.
