Abstract
The NHS Breast Screening Programme’s guidelines recommend that all breast biopsy results are given in person; however, most screening services do not have the capacity to do this. Avon Breast Screening runs a nurse-led clinic as an alternative, in which patients whose results are expected to be benign can receive them by telephone from a clinical nurse specialist if they desire. This article discusses an evaluation of the clinic, based on annual patient satisfaction surveys. ....
