Carroll County is now classified as being at the substantial transmission level of COVID-19, becoming one of the last of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions to do so, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
While Carroll is one of two counties in the state experiencing only moderate transmission of COVID-19, new cases in the county increased by about 45 percent last week over the previous week’s total.
Carroll County, which has seen declines in COVID-19 cases in each of the past three weeks, has reported 77 new cases this week. There had been 137 total cases at the same point last week.
