Bandits: Fani-Kayode commends Buhari, El-Rufai over release of 27 Afaka students

The students abducted few weeks ago were released on Wednesday.
According to a source, the students’ freedom was facilitated by Sheikh Ahmad Gumi-led committee, in collaboration with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Reacting, Fani-Kayode also commended the Nigerian Army for the rescue of the students.
He, however, vowed to attack and rebuke the government when necessary.
In a series of tweets, the former minister wrote: “I commend the Kaduna State Government, the Federal Government and the @HQNigerianArmy for the rescue of 13 kidnapped persons from evil and barbaric terrorists in Gwagwada, Chikun LGA of Kaduna state earlier today after a fierce gun battle. ....

Troops rescue 13 victims as bandits kill 2, destroy church in Kaduna village

Thirteen kidnapped persons were on Wednesday rescued by troops in Gwagwada, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.
The victims from Dutse had gone to work at one Tanadi Farm, located around Bakin Kasuwa in Gwagwada general area of Chikun local government area when they were abducted.
The state Commissioner, Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, in a statement explained that the victims were attacked by the armed bandits in the process.
He said with credible intelligence, the troops trailed the bandits to a forest near Bana village and there engaged them in a gun duel and the 13 citizens were rescued. ....

Cross River community laments disappearance of NDDC donated transformer, alleges fraud

The Esierebom Community in Calabar South Local Government Area in Cross River State has been thrown into darkness over lack of electricity.
The Community also lamented the disappearance of a 300KVA transformer donated to them by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) over a year ago
The Village Head of Esierebom Community, Chief Bassey Ekeng had admitted receiving the transformer on behalf of the community in 2020 from the NDDC for installation in the area
A year later, the transformer is yet to be installed and community members are now claiming it is missing, lamenting that the whereabouts of the transformer is known. ....
