Covid vaccination clinic at Bridport Medical Centre | Bridport and Lyme Regis News

Almost 1,000 people will be attending Bridport Medical Centre again today for their Covid vaccination. It is expected to be busy again in the area and those attending are advised to plan ahead. Locals not attending the clinic are urged to avoid West Allington and West Road during the morning if they can. The vaccinations clinics have been a major community effort with volunteers helping out on the day to ensure things run smoothly and local businesses donating goodies. Today s clinic will see around 990 vaccinations given from 8.30am to 1.30pm. In a message to patients, the Bridport Coronavirus Community Support group said: Parking for those getting vaccinations is available in the West Street/bus station car park with parking spaces at Bridport Medical Centre mostly reserved for those with mobility issues who would not otherwise be able to get to the surgery.

1,700 Dorset residents receive Covid jab in Super Saturday at vaccination clinic

Older residents received their first coronavirus vaccine jab at Bridport Medical Centre as more than 1,700 people were vaccinated over a day dubbed ‘Super Saturday’. As previously reported, the Jurassic Coast Healthcare Team has expanded its vaccination programme and held the first of several major clinics for people aged 75-79 yesterday. It comes after the supply of the AstraZeneca vaccine was increased. Earlier in the week, the Jurassic Coast Healthcare Team said it wanted to vaccinate between 1,500-2,000 people each day at the clinics. The centre previously said the large volume of vaccinations poses a huge logistical challenge both within the medical centre but also with car parking at the centre and traffic in the surrounding roads.
