BRIDGEPORT — In one of the area’s long-standing holiday traditions, borough administrators, public servants and other volunteers came together to support families in need during this season of giving. For the last 27 years, members from the police department, borough council, public works, crossing guards, and local school representatives have worked like a team of Santa’s elves to spread holiday cheer to residents with the help of local businesses. Weeks before the actual shopping commenced, Bridgeport police worked closely with Bridgeport Elementary School administrators to identify families in need.
