RAPID CITY, S.D. Bridges and the much needed repairs was the main topic Wednesday at the Rapid City Council working session.
The city is hoping to defray the costs with help from the South Dakota Department of Transportation. The two bridges that were identified as needing work were the San Marco Boulevard Bridge and Chapel Lane Bridge.
The East Main North Bridge near the Central States Fairgrounds, which has had recent issues due to its age, is also in need of repairs.
“It’s had a history, there was certainly some damage that was noticed on the structure,” says Rapid City Works Director, Dale Tech. “It was repaired, but there’s an overall rehab project that we’re going to be doing on that bridge. So I would certainly lump that into the same category as San Marco and Chapel Lane.”
