BRITS could be heading back to Spain as soon as next week, according to the country s tourism minister - despite the country still being off the UK green list.
Last week, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced the full list of green destinations which mean UK travellers don t have to quarantine on their return.

Spain was left off the list - meaning it is on the amber list, which requires a 10-day home quarantine back in the UK - and won t be added until June at the earliest.

JUST four of the countries included on the green list will allow Brits into the country without quarantining.
The list, revealed on Friday, includes 12 destinations that have been deemed low-risk, and won t require a 10-day self-isolation period when returning to the UK from May 17, when holidays can go ahead.

However, the majority of the countries on the list are still not letting tourists in - Australia s and New Zealand s borders remain closed to Brits along with Singpore.
The Faroe Islands, Falkland Islands and Brunei, also all on the green list, require quarantines on arrivals between 10 to 14 days.

GREECE and Cyprus were left off the UK s green list last week - and soaring cases mean they might miss the June traffic light reshuffle too.
Greece has seen the highest weekly percentage change in cases (17.5 per cent) in Europe, and Cyprus has the highest cases per million (499, compared to UK s 31).

Both countries are currently on the amber list, meaning returning Brits must quarantine for 10 days when arriving in the UK.

TRAVEL bosses are calling for Greece, Italy and Spain to be put on the UK’s holiday Green List after official figures show less than one per cent of arrivals test positive.
It comes after Transport Secretary Grant Schapps announced that Brits can FINALLY get their foreign getaways booked in - but the list of green list areas is very short.
