It is a great turnout for a Tuesday Morning and it seems that as long as the Atlantic Council does a sanctions program none of us doing it will ever be lonely. Sanctions are a used and some state misused tool. Sanctions are discussed usually in connection with a particular policy like iran sanctions venezuela sanctions. Today we are discussing well discussing a lot of this but also the use and potential abuse of the sanctions tool. The panel is going to be moderated by my colleague now colleague at the Atlantic Council , she was one of the designers of sanctions policy and affect policy for a number of years and now she is over here at the Atlantic Council. Her last work was done with brian otoole also an Atlantic Council colleague.
