Carson City’s own community radio station, KNVC, has been quietly churning out locally curated music, news, information and talk shows for about three years now, and they’re only gaining speed as time goes on. KNVC runs out of the historic Adams House on North Minnesota Street and, at present, boasts 31 volunteers into its broadcasting family.
Nevada is one of 32 states to allow an individual to legally kill a bear. Nevada’s bear harvest is small in number when compared to other states like California with a limit of 1,700. The rancor over Nevada’s bear hunt is among the nation’s loudest and most bitter. It’s an ongoing fight replete with lawsuits, restraining orders and death threats.
Brian Bahouth, news director at KNVC 95.1 FM, will be the featured speaker at the Democratic luncheon on Monday, July 2nd. Before coming to Carson City, he served as news director at three other community radio stations: KRZA in Alamosa, Colorado, KVMR in Nevada City and KUNR in Reno.
