Becoming Catholic: ‘The more I learned, the more it made sense’

COTTAGE GROVE Briahna Guevara was never baptized, nor was she from a particularly religious family. Her dad attended a Baptist church and took her along when she was 9.
“That’s as religious as my family gets,” said Guevera.
But that Baptist church was where Guevara’s conversion experience began. She wanted to know more about Christianity. She convinced her mom to give her a Bible. When she got to eighth grade, her parents told her that they were able to send her to Marist Catholic High School in nearby Eugene. ....
