Officials said bond proposals on the ballots are needed to keep up with growth and technology.Moore Public Schools officials said its community is growing, 7% last year with more expected. School officials say that growth means two things â a pricey school bond is necessary and that all those extra people are expected to keep the bond from raising taxes.The $346 million proposal would be spent over eight years, adding college and career readiness centers at each district high school, and classroom and building upgrades at each level, indoor athletic practice facilities and stadium improvements that would mean the high scho ....
Two of the Oklahoma City metro s largest school districts will have residents vote on multi-million dollar bond proposals on Tuesday. Moore Public Schools said every student in every grade will benefit from the two bond proposals on the ballot. Its worth is nearly $347 million. The district said most of it will go toward school improvements, and about $8 million will be used for transportation upgrades. Improvements include a college and career readiness centers at each high school. New safety entrances at the elementary schools, and multiple construction upgrades at schools across the district. One big factor in this bond is new air conditioning units in elementary school gyms. The district said 20 out of their 25 elementary school gyms have no air conditioning, making it difficult during warmer months. ....
