BREST, 17 May (BelTA) – The Brest Academic Drama Theater will show the production “A Respectable Wedding” at the 23rd edition of the international festival of theaters from the CIS and the Baltic states “Meetings in Russia”, BelTA learned from art director s assistant Olesya Burdina.
The theater festival is running in Saint Petersburg on 13-18 May. The program of the festival includes eight productions of various genres from Russian-language theaters from Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Moldova. Belarus is represented by two companies. The Grodno Oblast Puppet Theater showed the production “Demon” based on the poem by Mikhail Lermontov on 15 May. The Brest Academic Drama Theater will wrap up the festival. ....

Brest announces cash prizes for Richter Piano Competition winners
BREST, 3 February (BelTA) – The Brest City Hall will offer cash prizes to winners and runners-up of the 4th edition of the Sviatoslav Richter International Piano Competition, Svetlana Semashko, head of the culture department of the Brest City Hall, told a press conference on 3 February, BelTA has learned.
Depending on their age group, the best contestants will receive from 20 to 40 base amounts (as from 1 January 2021, one base amount equals Br29). Eligible to compete are pianists from Belarusian and foreign educational institutions aged 16-25. Applications will stay open until 27 February.
The piano competition will take place on 13-19 March. The main events will be hosted by the Shirma Brest State Music College. The competition will wrap up with a concert in the Brest Academic Drama Theater on 20 March, Sviatoslav Richter s birthday. ....
