Seated at the console of his home recording studio in Winder, Darrin Ellison queues up a pair of tracks he’s been working on lately, one of which was left open from the previous night.
One is a hard-edged hip-hop banger that would get club-goers jumping, the other a hook-heavy love song that sounds like it could go right into radio rotation.
Both are among the 500 songs Ellison, better known by his stage name “Elite Tha Showstoppa,” has amassed over the years that remain unreleased. Ellison says that could soon change.
“I’ve never released an album,” said Ellison. “That’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and it’s one of my primary goals now.”
