It started with the desire to create educational opportunities to help low-income students achieve a brighter future. Along the way, two nonprofits, Achieve Miami and Breakthrough Miami, discovered that their models inspired everyone involved: volunteers, teachers and mentors, no matter the income, race or gender. EXPARTUS MBA Admissions Consulting%%www.expartus.com%% A new scholarship program from University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business aims to promote diverse leadership in management. The school’s newly announced Breakthrough Scholars Program will award merit-based scholarships to students pursuing careers in asset management, including venture capital, private equity and other areas. Besides the scholarship award, recipients will have access to a range of opportunities for networking, mentoring, education and professional development. Together, the benefits that come with the Breakthrough Scholars Program are intended to provide “an advantage for elite women and outstanding under-represented racial minorities launching careers in private equity, venture capital and related fields,” according to Darden professor and Breakthrough Scholars adviser Greg Fairchild. ....
NFL Disburses over $4 Million is Social Justice Grants 9 Jan 2021 The NFL is making good on its promise to fund the social justice movement through the funding of 13 grants to nonprofit organizations connected to the Inspire Change program. The grants, totaling $4.3 million, are directed towards efforts to close the “digital divide.” “Education is a basic human right, and we can no longer deprive students of the tools they need to succeed, including devices and the internet,” said Kelvin Beachum, a Cardinals lineman, and Players Coalition task force member. “I am proud of the work Players Coalition and the NFL has done to help close this ‘digital divide’ and help those children in underserved communities.” ....
