Origins found for the detected radio signal that may have been aliens

A strange radio signal was detected late last year from Earth s closest neighboring star. The signal s origins have now been found.

Alien contact: Promising radio signal just human-generated interference

The Breakthrough Listen project detected radio waves that seemed to be the best candidate yet for an alien signal, but it turns out it was just human technology

Did We Receive a Message from a Planet Orbiting the Nearest Star?

Scientific American Did We Receive a Message from a Planet Orbiting the Nearest Star? A radio blip, seemingly from Proxima Centauri, where an Earth-size planet world orbits in the habitable zone, is tantalizing but it’s probably not a signal from aliens Advertisement On December 18, 2020, Ian Sample of the Guardian published a report about a tantalizing radio signal at 982.002MHz that was detected within the Breakthrough Listen project by the Parkes telescope in Australia from the nearest star to the sun, Proxima Centauri. This infrared star hosts an Earth-size planet, Proxima b, in its habitable zone, where liquid water could allow the chemistry of life on the planet’s surface. There was no scientific paper accompanying the report, and therefore it’s too early to draw any inferences.
