A known criminal offender, Clint Egnert Geban, was convicted today for assaulting a police officer at the Racoon Street Police Station. Geban, 25, a seaman and LIU worker, was charged with assault and harm after biting PC#2569 Keenan Yearwood's finger during a struggle.
A 66-year-old retired police sergeant was convicted of molesting and raping his stepdaughter. Even with the grave charges against him, the retired officer reached court over an hour late for his verdict last Thursday.
Police Constable Derwin Troy Marin, attached to Precinct 3 Police Station, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison after being charged with the alleged rape of a female detainee. Marin, 45, of East Canal Street, Belize City, was arraigned on Monday and will remain in custody until his bail hearing at the High Court on August 6, 2024.

Denfield Lemott, 46, of Raccoon Street, was denied bail on Tuesday after being arraigned on a burglary charge at the Belize City Magistrate's Court. Lemott, previously convicted of similar offenses, faced Magistrate Lois Young in Court #4.
