There is an ongoing fire outbreak at the popular Dosunmu market on Lagos Island, Lagos State. This was confirmed by Ibrahim Farinloye, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Zonal Coordinator, South-West on Tuesday afternoon in an update sent to SaharaReporters. In a series of photographs and videos obtained by SaharaReporters, the fire was seen burning heavily on some high-rise buildings in the market.
No fewer than four buildings have been razed by the raging fire at the popular Dosunmu market on Lagos Island, Lagos State. SaharaReporters had been reporting the fire incident which started on Tuesday afternoon. In a series of pictures and videos obtained by SaharaReporters, the fire is seen raging on some big buildings in the market.
A three-storey building located at Breadfruit Street, Balogun Market in Lagos State was gutted by fire on Monday afternoon. A press statement made available to SaharaReporters by Margaret Adeseye, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service disclosed that the fire started from the second floor of the building. The statement added that the inferno was caused by a generator and no casualties were recorded from the incident.
