Belarusian tour operators to gather for open-air meetup in Braslav on 14 May
VITEBSK, 13 May (BelTA) – The open-air tourism exhibition Braslav for Sustainable Tourism due in Braslav District on 14-15 May will bring together tour operators from all over the country, Irina Umpirovich, the head of the sport and tourism department of the Braslav district administration, told BelTA.
Forty-five major tour operators of Belarus have applied to participate in the tourist exhibition in Braslav District. They will share their experiences and talk about new forms of work.
Guests of Braslav District will tour local tourist facilities. These are agro-eco-estates, cafes, BraslaWave sailing school, Braslav Lakes National Park. They will also visit the observation deck on Mayak Hill to admire the bird s-eye view of the local scenery. MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Applications for the Call for Entrepreneurial Initiatives of the project “Support to Economic Development at the Local Level in the Republic of Belarus” have closed. All in all, the project received 241 applications from 12 pilot districts of Belarus, project s PR specialist Nadezhda Sinelnik told BelTA.
“Kobrin District of Brest Oblast is in the lead in terms of the number of applications, with 36 applications. Khoiniki District of Gomel Oblast and Molodechno District of Minsk Oblast were also quite active, submitting 26 applications each. Braslav District of Vitebsk Oblast and Lida District of Grodno Oblast filed 24 and 23 applications respectively,” Nadezhda Sinelnik said. ....

VITEBSK, 30 December (BelTA) – It is the second time the Vitebsk branch of the State Customs Committee of Belarus has arranged a New Year event, during which the fairy-tale characters Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) greeted drivers of semi-trucks at the Belarusian-Latvian border, BelTA has learned.
Drivers crossing the Belarusian-Latvian border at the Urbany border checkpoint in Braslav District and in the Grigorovshchina border checkpoint in Verkhnedvinsk District were in for a surprise. Customs service officers dressed up as Ded Moroz and Snegurochka greeted and saw off the trucks. The New Year event was as successful as the one arranged several years ago. ....
