Brandt buys the Regina Pats

The Regina Pats are now owned by the Brandt Group of Companies.
Brandt, who had been a co-owner of the team as a partner in Queen City Sports and Entertainment, is taking over sole ownership in a move that has been approved by the WHL Board of Governors and is effective immediately.
Current Pats President Todd Lumbard, who was also part of Queen City Sports and Entertainment, will remain with the organization in an advisory capacity.
Speaking with 620 CKRM shortly after the announcement was made, Brandt CEO Shaun Semple said this was something that was simply the right thing to do. ....

Here's how the Regina Pats are preparing for the WHL hub season

The Regina Pats are preparing for the season to get under way next week, after arriving in the Western Hockey League s East Division Hub on the weekend.
“I think everyone’s extremely excited to go,” said Logan Nijhoff, one of the Pats alternate captains in 2019. “It’s been 366 days, so everyone should be in the best shape of their life.”
The seven WHL teams competing in the hub arrived in Regina on Saturday. Dorm rooms at the University of Regina and Luther College will be their home for the next two months.
The players haven’t been in a team setting since March 2020. ....
