Oklahoma pitchers struck out a season-high 18 Texas Tech batters on Friday night at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman as the Sooners walked off with a 9-8 win in 10 innings.
Justin Mitchell led off the 10th with a triple, then after a strikeout, Mitchell scored the winning run on a wild pitch by Tech pitcher
Ryan Sublette.
“Oh, that was awesome,” Mitchell said afterward. “I mean uh, I don’t know if I can describe it. I mean, does anyone expect a passed-ball walk-off right there? Probably not. But that’s the game of baseball. You never know what’s gonna happen, and you gotta take what you can.” ....

Oklahoma’s pitching struggled again on Tuesday night, succumbing to the Oklahoma State Cowboys 7-3 at ONEOK Field on in Tulsa.
In the final non-conference Bedlam matchup of the year, the Cowboys took advantage of the free passes issued from the Sooner staff to close the regular season 3-2 against OU.
The Sooner pitching woes started with the second batter of the game.

NORMAN Oklahoma nearly completed another impossible rally. But this time, the Sooners fell short.
OU fell behind Kansas 5-0 on Saturday in a Big 12 Conference game at L. Dale Mitchell Park, but the Jayhawks won it in 8-7 in 10 innings.
In a Tuesday win over Oral Roberts, OU fell behind 8-0 and rallied to win.
The Sooners fell to 15-15 overall, 2-6 in Big 12 play, while Kansas improved to 18-12 and 2-6. The loss ends a string of six straight OU victories over KU, including Friday’s series opener. ....

NORMAN – For the second straight game, Oklahoma’s bats heated up late. But for the second straight game, it wasn’t enough.
OU dropped the second game of its series against No. 11 TCU 17-6 Saturday afternoon at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
After scoring seven runs in the final four innings in Friday’s loss, the Sooners (13-13 overall, 1-4 Big 12) scored five runs in the eighth and ninth innings on Saturday.
