this is the cbs morning news for wednesday, may 20th 2015. good morning. good to be with you. i m anne-marie green. we begin with tornados and another round of potentially dangerous weather threatening the southern plains today. there are reports of 27 tornados touching down in texas and oklahoma on tuesday. tornado watches are posted there this morning. large hail and damaging winds are also possible. look at that. due west of north worth, one and possibly two tornados hit the texas town of mineral wells last night. the storm ripped siding from buildings, downed trees, knocked out power, and damaged two nearby churches. several streets are impassable, but there are no reports of injury. i d seen it start to drive, i seen the tail touch down things flew up in the air. it look like it picked up and headed a little bit east. the good news is it didn t strike earlier during rush hour as people were getting off work. now to the largest auto recall in u.s. hist ....
protesters are taking action against the prosecute s crackdown. activists say the recent wave of arrests is striking fear into families who pose no criminal threat. ice officials say that the arrests were in fact routine. nbc s gabe gutierrez joins me from atlanta. gabe? hi, there, amon. there were several arrests in atlanta alone. ice officials say these were routine law enforcement operations, but immigration advocates say this is what they have feared. on the same week that protests ecorrupted in arizona as a mother convicted of using a false social security number was deported. families of undocumented immigrants say they are now living in fear from california with donald trump being president, i see no hope for us. to north carolina. this week immigration and custom enforcement raids in at least six states. ice says the raids were routine, no differentiate than those in the last administration. this is where the raid happened. this is where the rai she say ....
