(FQHCs, created in 1965 during Pres. Lyndon Johnson s War on Poverty, was designed to provide health care services in rural and underserved areas. In Vermont, they provide care to approximately one in four Vermonters.)
CHCCR opened in 2004, providing a network of medical, dental and behavioral health care. It’s grown to include seven medical facilities and a pharmacy in Rutland, Brandon, West Pawlet (Mettowee), Shorewell, Castleton, Community Health Pediatrics, Community Health Dental and the Brandon Community Pharmacy.
