The head of Grand Forks’ standalone inspections department is a school district official who’s heading back to municipal government after a sojourn at a consulting company and Altru Health System.

For the first time this school year, Polk County’s average case rate has decreased.
The decrease follows a downward trend in case numbers in Polk and Grand Forks counties in recent weeks. That’s good news, said East Grand Forks Superintendent Mike Kolness, but he said Polk County Director of Public Health Sarah Reese is hesitant to get too excited just yet.
