NORFOLK, Va. - The City of Norfolk is testing bus/bike/scooter travel lanes along a section of Boush Street on the first Friday and Saturday of May.
The city says this is part of an ongoing effort to make bike and scooter riding safe and convenient.
The test will determine which travel concept for Boush Street is preferred for the future configuration of the street. The option is between one vehicular travel lane with a shared bus/bike/scooter lane or one vehicular travel lane and a parking lane. ....

VDOT seeks input on changes to I-264/Brambleton Avenue interchange in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. - VDOT wants to hear from the public regarding the Interstate 264/Brambleton Avenue interchange in Norfolk by conducting a study.
VDOT says they are studying ways to enhance safety, improve mobility and reduce congestion through a STARS (Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions) study in the vicinity of the interchange.
The study is considering improvements at the I-264/Brambleton Avenue interchange area, from the Park Avenue intersection in the north to the Kimball Terrace intersection in the south.
VDOT says the main concern in this study is congestion on the I-264 west off-ramp to Brambleton Avenue northbound during morning rush hour. ....

Norfolk shooting lands man in hospital with life-threatening injuries

NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk Police are investigating a shooting in the 900 block of E. Brambleton Avenue that left a man seriously injured early Friday evening.
The call came in around 6 p.m.
Police say the man was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment for his injuries, which are said to be life-threatening.
There is no further information.
