All four people aboard a Black Hawk helicopter which crashed Tuesday near the Leesburg International Airport are now confirmed to be dead.
The 1981 modified military aircraft took off for its last flight Tuesday around 5:12 p.m. from Leesburg International Airport.
LEESBURG, Fla. - A firefighting helicopter carrying four people on a training exercise crashed near an airport in central Florida, killing all aboard.
The helicopter crashed into a marsh near Leesburg International Airport around 4 p.m. Tuesday, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a news release.
The Leesburg Police Department said according to initial reports there were four people on the helicopter. One person was confirmed dead on scene. Officials have not given an update on the three others who were on board.
