Eagles Hunter Davis Allows Only One Hit In 9-0 Win Over Central

Signal Mountain pitcher Hunter Davis started heating things up early under the lights against Central on Tuesday night. In the first inning his fastest stuff had a distinct sizzling sound as it reached the catcher’s mitt.
That sizzle lasted throughout his seven innings on the mound or the Eagles. By the end of the night Davis had given up only one hit, while striking out 10.  He allowed only five men on base.
In the first inning Central pitcher Dylan Brown showed off his curve ball, and despite giving up three hits and one run, he still got out out of the inning after only facing five batters. ....

The Signal Mountain Eagles went into halftime up 16-28 in their own gym on Wednesday night, but a strong second half performance by Hixon allowed the Wildcats to squeak out a narrow 44-43 win to open their District 6-AA Tournament.
Signal Mountain, in their home whites, won the opening tip and scored first with a lay-up from senior Benjamin Burns, the Eagles would hold onto that lead until late in the fourth quarter. Both teams lined up in man defense, with Signal Mountain pressing high after each made basket. ....

It’s been almost two months since the Red Bank Lions had played an official basketball game and coach Nick Fike wasn’t really sure what to expect, but things turned out just fine on Tuesday night at the Susan Ingram Thurman Gymnasium as the Lions pulled away in the second half for a convincing 57-29 victory over the Signal Mountain Eagles.
Red Bank improves to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in District 6-AA play while the Eagles fall to 2-5 overall and 1-0 in 6-AA. ....
