There hasn t been much change in the trajectory of either US Covid metric: new cases continue to increase at a modest pace, while US Covid deaths continue to fall. New cases of Covid confirmed over the week ending April 3rd were 5.9% higher that those confirmed over the week ending March 27th, and 15.9% higher than those of the week ending March 20th, while US Covid deaths during the week ending April 3rd were 12.2% lower than the prior week, and down 74.7% from the peak week in late January. ....

Grant PUD announced last week that it would join in a partnership with two other entities to pursue building a nuclear power project.
The county-based utility that already operates two hydroelectric dams on the Columbia River will work with Energy Northwest and X-energy, in a TRi Energy Partnership, a mutual partnership to support the development and commercial demonstration of the country. ....

Partnership formed for advanced reactor deployment in Washington State : New Nuclear

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by Energy Northwest, Grant County Public Utility District and X-energy to form a partnership to support the development and commercial demonstration of the USA s first advanced nuclear reactor. The TRi Energy Partnership aims to construct a plant based on X-energy s Xe-100 reactor design at Energy Northwest s existing Columbia site in Washington.

The MoU was signed on 1 April in Richland, Washington, by Energy Northwest CEO Brad Sawatzke, X-energy CEO Clay Sell and Grant PUD CEO Kevin Sawatzke.
Through the MoU, the partners will collaborate and share resources to evaluate their mutual goal of siting, building and operating a Xe-100 advanced nuclear power plant with the potential to generate up to 320 MWe.
