Jan 31, 2021 GAINESVILLE, Fla. Rev. Delbert J. King, retired United Methodist Pastor formerly of Bristolville and Braceville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at his home in Gainesville, Fla., from complications of Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia. He was 79. He was born in Mesopotamia to Katie and Ernest King. He grew up in Bristolville, then the family moved to Braceville where Delbert graduated from Braceville High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Rio Grande College (Ohio). After marrying the former Maureen Hoynos, they moved to Gainesville, Fla.. and he earned his Master of Divinity degree from the Chandler School of Theology, Emory University. He served many churches in the North Central Florida district of the United Methodist Church. He served on various communities in the district over the years. A memorable trip to the Holy Land with his daughter and pastor friend was the highpoint of his walk with the Lord. ....
[email protected] LEAVITTSBURG A new display area is set up at LaBrae schools to recognize the various achievements and accomplishments of the graduates who have been, or will be, inducted into a hall of fame. Superintendent Anthony Calderone said the display at the high school includes a large wall with the district Viking mascot and reads: “Tradition of Excellence: LaBrae Hall of Fame” The display adjacent to the high school gym is a combination of an interactive digital display and a wall display listing classes dating back to the original 2009 induction. Calderone said the interactive multimedia content will sync to the LaBrae schools’ website. ....
