WILNA â A Carthage woman has been charged with arson after she allegedly lit a train on fire over the weekend. Chelsea F. Frost, 29, of Carthage, was charged by state police Sunday with third-degree arson, third-degree burglary and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was charged with starting a fire inside a CSX railroad boxcar Sunday, near Boyd Road in the town of Wilna. The Carthage Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire quickly. Ms. Frost was processed at the state police post in Carthage and then arraigned. She was held at the Jefferson County jail on a $200 cash bail, which it appears she paid Tuesday. ....

Staff Report LISBON The highway patrol is investigating three fatal crashes that occurred on county roads within a 24-hour period. A 34-year-old Wellsville man, Tress Wiley, was killed in a single-car accident shortly after midnight Monday on Osbourne Road in Madison Township. Earlier Sunday night, 24-year-old Elijah Kaufman of Rogers was killed in an ATV rollover crash on Bye Road in Middleton Township. On Monday afternoon, a 59-year-old truck driver from Pennsylvania, Darrell Young, was killed in a crash on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township. Wiley was driving a 2002 Acura RSX westbound on Osbourne between Crews and Fife Coal roads when he traveled off the left side of road and struck an embankment which caused his vehicle to overturn. The vehicle struck a fence and re-entered the roadway before traveling off the right side of the road before coming to rest. ....

Male called 911 also, saying he woke up and that she had fallen down or something to that effect. Police were unable to locate male upon arrival. 10:30 a.m.: Verbal warning issued to driver at Lafayette Road and Route 1 Bypass northbound for speed and misuse of plates. 11:07 a.m.: Male caller said he was being harassed by a friend s wife, which had been going on for six months, and that she was now contacting him via her husband s phone and the landline now. Police later spoke to the caller and the subject and they agreed not to call each other anymore. ....

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says a Geneva driver was airlifted from the scene of a serious crash that happened during the afternoon hours on Tuesday. Deputies say Mary M. Bonacci, 78, of Geneva was traveling northbound on Boyd Road in Sodus when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the Glover Road intersection. As she proceeded through the intersection a United Parcel Service box truck being operated by Joshua Bardeen, 29, of Canandaigua was traveling east on Glover Road. ....
