Kids needed a purpose. i couldn t help, but be struck by the conversation in the last segment, fun with a purpose, we desperately needs kids in the outdoors and engaged in exciting things. 75 years ago we had the jamboree on this property and it s appropriate that we re here. over the past hundred years there was a time in scouting you had to learn how to catch a run away horse. i haven t seen run away horses lately. so the challenge for us is to maintain who we are, the core principles in the scout oath and law. and for example, you ll find an ipod pocket on the left sleeve of a scout shirt and they can find out whether to eat that plant rather than had a book. at theened of the day we ve got to get them in the out of doors. the health of children today is a crisis point in our ....
