British Columbia s COVID-19 numbers have once again risen. In a written statement this afternoon (March 3), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix said 542 cases of the virus were detected during the past 24 hours, bringing the grand total to 75,819. Of the new cases, Northern Health recorded 44, bringing the authority total to 4,686 since the virus hit the region on March 14, 2020. Officials announced seven more deaths linked to the virus today, bringing the province s toll to 1,372. There are 4,654 active cases throughout B.C. with 246 people currently hospitalized, 64 of which are in ICU or critical care. Dr. Henry revealed there have been 18 new variants of concern cases, bringing the provincial total to 200, with 11 active. ....
