Apologies from two councillors for ‘coming across as aggressive’ and accusing officers of manipulating data
Two councillors have issued apologies after two separate incidents during a Planning Committee meeting last night.
Planning committee members had been discussing plans from Wrexham Council to convert the former Borras Park Infants school building into a Welsh-medium school.
Concerns had been raised by several councillors throughout the meeting over existing traffic and parking issues in the area, which some felt could be exacerbated if the plans were approved.
However the debate saw two members of the council’s coalition administration warned over their conduct toward both planning and highways officer’s involved in the planning report. ....

Plans for new Welsh-medium primary school in Wrexham backed for approval amid traffic and parking concerns
Plans to create a new Welsh-medium primary school in Wrexham have been backed for approval, despite concerns over parking and traffic issues.
Wrexham Council is behind the proposals to transform the existing Borras Park Community Primary School site.
It would result in the junior school building being refurbished and expanded to accommodate all pupils being taught in English.
The scheme would see ten extra classrooms being built within a two-storey extension, along with a new childcare unit.
The current infant school would then be completely remodelled to establish a new Welsh medium school for 210 children to meet the demand for places in the area. ....
