On Nov. 15, in what was its most attended field trip in memory, the Kern River Valley Historical Society visited the Borel Canyon Hydroelectric Power Plant on CA-178 in Bodfish. The plant has been decommissioned because it no longer has access to a water source to power it, and its fate has yet to be determined.
