Masterpieces of Italian art from the 20th and 21st centuries are being presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rome at the Art Sonje Center in Seoul. The exhibition “The Grand Italian Vision: The Farnesina Collection” displays 71 works by 63 artists held by the Italian ministry for the first time in Korea. The exhibition has been curated by Italian art critic Achille .
Originally housed in the Palazzo della Farnesina, the building for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Rome, the collection with more than 530 works by 280 artists was accumulated by then secretary general Umberto Vattani.The Grand Italian Vision, which showcases avant-garde works of sculpture, mosaic, painting, photography, and installations, also marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Italy, Italian ambassador Vincenzo de Luca said at the opening ceremony.
