It's no secret that Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young is off to a slow start to his NFL career. The former Alabama star has yet to throw for 250 yards in a single game this season and has and 8-9 touchdown-to-turnover ratio through the first eight games of the season. He enters tomorrow night's matchup in the Windy City off arguably his worst performance of the season, where he tossed two interceptions to the opposition that were returned for touchdowns and essentially lost the team the game.
It's no secret that the 2023 Carolina Panthers are off to a slow start under Frank Reich. The team has won just one of the twelve games that he has coached so far dating back to the preseason, which is easily the worst start that a head coach has had with the franchise. This has led to some fans already demanding that the team move on from him after just one season, which seems a bit crazy. However, one big name in the NFL media says that it cannot be completely ruled out right now.
After a week of excitement and hope, the Panthers' 2023 season returned to the regularly scheduled misery on Sunday. Against one of the best statistical offenses that they had faced so far this year, the defense showed out, holding the Colts offense to just 13 points and 198 total yards. In the end, it wasn't enough, though, because of the two pick-sixes tossed by rookie quarterback Bryce Young that were the difference on the scoreboard in the 27-13 loss.
The Panthers picked up their first win of the season on Sunday afternoon against the Houston Texans 15-13, giving Frank Reich his first win as the franchises head coach and Bryce Young his first career victory. While it was big for both of those guys, this was huge win for the team as whole with two winnable games on the horizon in the next two weeks.
