COLOMBO (News 1st); The Director General of Health Services on Sunday (09) confirmed 15 deaths that occurred from 06th to 09th May, due to Covid-19 virus infection. Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 801.
01. The deceased is a 52 year old female resident in Bandaragama. She died on 09.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Horana. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and Hypothyroidism.
02. The deceased is a 76 year old female resident in Ampitiya. She died on 08.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Teaching Hospital Peradeniya. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid infection, Sepsis and pneumonia.

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka recorded its highest number of daily COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday (Feb. 17), with 13 fatalities confirmed by the Director-General of Health Services.
Thereby, the COVID-19 death toll in the country now stands at 422.
The details of the deceased are as follows:
01. A 46-year-old female from Nuwara Eliya. She died on 11.02.2021 on admission to the Nuwara Eliya District Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid-19 infection and kidney disease.
02. A 65-year-old male from Agarapathana. He died on 12.02.2021 after being transferred from the Agarapathana Hospital to the Nuwara Eliya District Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as acute Asthma with COVID-19 infection and diabetes.
