The first was reported on Dartmoor and later in the evening, a wildfire three miles wide was reported on Bodmin. The public were urged to stay away from the extremely dangerous fire on Dartmoor. The fire was reported at 6.18pm last night (Thursday, February 11) at The Meads in Dartmoor National Park. On Twitter last night Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: The weather is making conditions for firefighting extremely dangerous - it’s very windy and low visibility so we’re maintaining our presence but fighting in ‘defensive mode’, which means we’re working to stop the fire from getting worse until conditions improve for us to do more. ....
