13 and 15 booked themselves on an airline adventure without their parents permission and then took off. they re still unpacking after a real spur of the moment trip. three underage kids who flew from their hometown of jacksonville, florida, to nashville, tennessee. 13-year-old bobby nolan asked his friends tuesday morning if they wanted to hang out. 15-year-old bridget brown texted her idea, suggesting a flight to nashville after saving $700 from babysitting. i just wanted to fly and i had the money. reporter: she called southwest and found out the tickets cost $238 each for an afternoon flight. so bridget, bobby and her 11-year-old brother called a cab and rode to the airport. they bought their three tickets at the counter. he said okay. so he told us how much it would be. and then we paid him and he put the little flight things on our bags and then he said you better run because you might miss your flight. reporter: the kids say nobody asked about their parents. nobody even
did anyone ask where their parents were or for identification. we took our stuff out of the pockets, shoes off, walked through, and they didn t say nothing. reporter: didn t ask you for any i.d.s? no, ma am. nobody else had i.d.s. we didn t. reporter: bonnie snack order pretzels not wondering what they would do with the remaining $40 once they got to music city but how his parents would react. what was our mom and dad thing. reporter: mom and dad knew bobby had gone to play with the neighbors. around dinner time they called him to come home. straight to voice mail. a neighbor told them a cab picked up the kids around 2:30. while frantically calling cab companies, the phone rang. called to say we are in nashville and ready to come home. reporter: southwest airlines says their policies permits children age 11 allows them to fly with anyone 12 and older.
our pockets, our shoes off and walked through it and they didn t say nothing. they ask you for i.d.s or anything? no, ma am. anybody ask you for an i.d.? reporter: on board, they snacked on free pretzels because they only had $40 left. then they wondered what their parents would think. what would our mom and dad think. reporter: at dinnertime, bobby s parents called him to come home and got his voice mail. a neighbor told them that a cab picked up their kids earlier. after calling cab companies to find out where they went, the phone finally rang. he called and said, we re in nashville, ready to come home. reporter: so they boarded another southwest flight in nashville and flew home. another $700 down the drain. southwest airlines says its policy allows 11-year-olds to fly as long as someone age 12 or older is flying with them. as you can probably imagine, the parents are none too happy with southwest airlines policies. it is a big topic for discussion later this mornin
