One of the greatest unsolved mysteries in the history of Edgeworth, and the St. Rocco Feast, took place in August of 1982 at the 53rd annual San Rock Festa. It was just another ordinary St. Rocco weekend right up until Sunday morning. Then blam! The backstory; as always, all the regulars gathered to sample the calzone, sausages & peppers, fried dough, and cannoli. They gathered to toast loved ones no longer with them. And to share the home-made vino that sat fermenting for months in every basement in Edgeworth. Regulars like Lou Brandano, (then Ward 2 Councilor) Dom Fermano, Tony Spadafora Sr., Johnny Colangeli Sr., John Puleo Sr., Freddy Caruso, Joey Cantera, Frankie Ultrino, Nick Angelo, Anne Sbraccia, Jean Selidelli, (then Ward 6 Councilor) Billy Croken, Bobby McCarthy, and a whole heck of a lot more San Rock pilgrims. This is the 28th and final episode in the series where we look at some of the forgotten players from your favourite club.
The series has covered all of the current clubs, those that disappeared in mergers, those that came and went and those that just disappeared.
It’s amazing how many players have come and gone through the various clubs over the years, how many who had brief careers, how many who had their careers cut short by injury, how many went from club to club like footballing nomads and how many became club stalwarts and legends.

2020 was both a year to remember and a year we all want to forget.
Before it’s too far gone, let’s take some time to remember some of the rugby league players who left us for good in 2020.
1. Paul Fisher
A Souths-Sunnybank junior and a very accomplished and highly regarded player in the Brisbane competition, Paul Fisher was equally at home at either halfback, hooker or fullback. He was selected in the Queensland residents team in 1992 under coach Paul Vautin.
