these times) the only way to ensure the survival of the species or in the case of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, the institution is to evolve. Sometimes radically.
As of December 21st, 2020, the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing as we know it will not exist. Rather, the heated, three-pronged (Haleiwa, Sunset, Pipeline) competition experience will morph into an open, submission-based freesurfing format, sanctioned by the World Surf League as a “specialty digital event” and hosted entirely online at VansTripleCrownofSurfing.com.
